Job Description

The Watson Health Design Community and Talent Development Lead is responsible for defining, executing, and orchestrating activities, processes, programs, and tools that accelerate Watson Health Design community development, in order to optimize collaboration and communication, facilitate the professional growth and impact of our designers and design teams (spanning the full talent lifecycle), help achieve delivery excellence and lean operational efficiency, and enable successful execution of mission-critical strategic Design initiatives and programs.

Title: Design Community and Talent Lead

Location: Cambridge, MA (Boston); Austin, TX, or New York, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Working with Design Leads, Team Leads, and Execs to identify and execute hiring and resource needs by managing the hiring approval process and tracking open requisitions across the market segments

  • Defining and coordinating activities, processes, and tools to support practice development, community development (collaboration, internal meetings and communication, knowledge exchange, etc.), and the successful execution of strategic design initiatives (e.g. Experience Research & Insights, Design Pattern Library, etc.).

  • Defining and setting up design-focused enablement, activation, retention and mentorship programs to accelerate professional development and grow the next generation of Design leaders in Watson Health

  • Keeping a consistent pulse on the design community needs through regular health checks with design team members and design leadership
