The Resolution Teams within Associate Relations interpret and apply the firms policies, culture and business practices for the firm in order to align Human Resource practice with business objectives. More specifically, Resolution Team associates field questions related to sexual harassment, discrimination, conflict resolution, and written associate discipline and terminations. Thereis one Resolution Team to support the home office andthree Resolution Teams to better service our growing field.This position is responsible for leading a team of associates who support the West Region to ensure that all employment laws and firm policies are adhered to by:Working with branch teams to diagnose and resolve a variety of issues surrounding team dynamics in the Edward Jones branch office.Investigating complex and sensitive allegations of misconduct in regard to employment law and firm policy violations in a thorough, diligent and unbiased manner to protect the interests of the firm and its associates.Providing coaching and counseling to firm leaders on the delivery of performance feedback and, at times, providing that feedback directly.Reviewing and approving disciplinary actions and/or terminations of associates as a result of investigations performed by the Associate Relations Resolution team members for which this position is responsible; recommending and implementing the actions taken by the firm; and alerting the business areas impacted by these decisions (i.e., Financial Advisor Development, Financial Advisor Training, Compliance Resolution, Field Supervision, Branch Audit, BOA Hiring, BOA Development, IS Security, HR Benefits, etc.).Evaluating current trends and patterns of behavior to identify needs and implementing proactive measures to mitigate performance and behavioral concerns.Creating written correspondence in support of the firm's progressive disciplinary process and documenting associate situations in a legally appropriate manner.Working with firm associates to provide support and assistance during times of personal challenge.Providing coaching, feedback and direction to a team of Associate Relations Specialists and Senior Associate Relations Specialists on both their performance and the resolution of a variety of employee relations issues.Education/Certification of functional knowledge required prior to obtaining the position (i.e. college degree preferred; BS in Accounting or related field; Series 7 and 63 attained within 6 months of start date):BS/BA in a related field and 7 years of experience in an HR position with at least 5 years directly in employee relations (or in an increasingly responsible leadership position).Advanced degree with Human Resources emphasis and PHR/SPHR certification a plus.In-depth knowledge of employment law. Working knowledge of the products and services offered by the firm.Understanding of the Edward Jones branch modelUnderstanding of the training requirements for FA's and BOA's Understanding of the firm's compliance policies.
