Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM is currently hiring an intern for the Intellectual Property (IP) team. This team supports IP monetization activities for IBM Research for the full transaction lifecycle from inception to close.
You’ll have the opportunity to support an IBM incubator for AI/ML Network Insights Research technologies. This small team creates killer applications, deploys them to real world customers, and monetizes the assets through creation of new business models. The team interacts regularly with IBM senior management, corporate development, and various leaders across IBM’s divisions. You’ll contribute to an inclusive, data-driven decision-making process as well as a team focused on incubating creative frameworks for deals and special projects.
You’ll support the team in to help advance the adoption of AI/ML technologies. This means (1) performing and analyzing market and financial research for new use cases and channels to market across various industries, (2) developing financial models, (3) supporting partner and customer engagements and (4) bringing thought leadership on engaging new customers.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Pursuing MBA with preference for concentration in Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Finance or related field
• Undergraduate degree, preference for technical fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Math
• Experience with financial analysis, model building and financial statement analysis to include Pricing models SAAS, services, license, open source, etc…
• The ability to independently identify, research and resolve issues
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Possesses strong attention to detail, curiosity in understanding the “why”, and a passion to create change
• Ability to bridge quantitative and project management skill sets
• Ability to construct, analyze, and critique market reports and financial statements
• Marketing and web-based customer capture
