Provides and utilizes project management tools, training, best practices and technology to support HR business plan goals. Provides project, program and portfolio expertise and mentoring to HR associates, project managers, project sponsors, business leaders and project teams and represents the HR PMO at firm and cross-divisional opportunities.The Sr. Portfolio Resource Manager role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of initiatives that span one or more divisions, maintaining visibility of all key project information. Additionally, this role will assist HR leaders and project leaders as needed in their efforts to coordinate and monitor the scheduling, resourcing and health of projects, ensure adherence to master plans and schedules, assist in developing solutions for issues and risks, and consult on metrics to evaluate delivering business outcomes and are completed on time and within approved cost.Key Responsibilities:Close engagement with Firm PMO, HR governance committees and HR leaders to maintain the list of approved strategic projects and priorities.Understand HR capabilities, assets, skills, and resource capacity, supporting leadership to establish the best use of resources and focus on projects that are achievable and strategically aligned with the firm's objectives.Provide key stakeholders with timely assessment of portfolio-level issues and risks that are impacting the overall performance of the portfolios; balance conflicting portfolio priorities and recommend corrective actions.Develop tools to alert appropriate individuals when critical schedules, financial, or resource thresholds are breached.Ensure portfolio management process documentation is up-to-date and leveraged effectively.Apply portfolio management best practices to establish benchmark data to use for continuous process improvements, working with portfolio owners to continuously review and optimize their portfolio to ensure on-going alignment with evolving organizational goals, market opportunities, and threats.Measure and monitor portfolio value to the organization through portfolio performance metrics and targets.Collaborate and guide project leaders on how to address project variances, staffing gaps, issue escalation and resolution by routinely tracking progress.Works with HR leaders to manage associate resources on a division/area/team basis. Ensures that resources of suitable skills and caliber are available for tasks and activities as required and provides guidance and recommendations for complex problems.Demonstrates specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in discipline or function.Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge on project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and Product Management, understands the differences and when and how to appropriately use each methodology. Requirements:Bachelors degree or higher from accredited college or universityPMP certification not required but preferred3-5 years experience in project/portfolio management with extensive experience in project and portfolio management tools and MS OfficeExperience in a product management/agile environment a plusStrong organizational, communication and writing skillsExceptional organization
