Ascension Health Senior Project Manager in St Louis, Missouri

Ascension is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) team.

What You Will Do

As a Senior Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to perform planning, implementation design, analysis, research, development, and oversight of project initiatives. Providing project leadership for the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of the project management process consistent with identified project scope, timeline and expectations.

  • Works collaboratively across the organization to identify, develop and implement key national, strategic initiatives and programs while supporting the organization.

  • In partnership with project lead or the executive sponsor, helps drive assessment of project opportunity, scope, business plan development, budget, implementation plan, and retro review processes.

  • Develops implementation plan for approval; provides ongoing tracking and reporting of progress to plan to keep project teams on track. Uses problem-solving skills, analysis, and critical thinking to assess reasonableness of data and plans.

  • Provides analytical and operational expertise and support to the team through delivery of complex process workflows, analysis, requirements, and documentation.

  • Gathers data to set baseline and target trajectories and KPIs with a focus on outcome improvements.

  • Facilitates and orchestrates activities to document problem identification and resolution, consensus building, mediation, project planning, project status updates and completion

  • Assists with the development of “leave behind” tools and instructions for each project

  • Collaborates with team members to plan and implement system workshops/events that support learning and performance optimization. Identifies and shares best practices and lessons learned to ensure effective knowledge transfer

  • Documents findings and improvements on a project by project basis reflecting revised or new operational and systematic processes. Provides timely, effective, creative communications on status of activities

  • Assists in the development and use of system projects software. Develops specific tools and programs that support the success of projects.

  • Assesses risk, issues, and interdependencies; ensures team accountability. Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Finance, Management Engineering or related field preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience required.

  • 5 years of experience in complex project management preferred.

  • 5 years of experience in healthcare environments with working familiarity of clinical and operational functions preferred.

  • 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred.

  • Proficient in Smartsheet highly desired.
