Your Seat at the Table:
This role will be a critical part of The Climate Corporation’s Product team focused on digital ag crop protection products that deliver unique user value through crop protection rate, timing, placement, and targeting recommendations . This role will be focused on enabling Bayer’s crop protection business models, leveraging Climate science and FieldView functionality, and ultimately driving revenue of Bayer’s crop protection business. You are the “conductor of the orchestra” when it comes to supporting our business models and valuable use cases.
Manage Crop Protection product development within the digital landscape, actively communicating with Climate R&D as well as Bayer New Ventures
Support CP product strategy and roadmap planning, overseeing the enterprise benefits and value generation for Crop Protection business
Lead multifunctional teams from Design, Science, Engineering, D.A. and BCS New Ventures to enable lean and agile product development.
Works with Professional Services, DaaS and SaaS PMs to build up the crop protection plan
Act as a central point of contact in the strategy of global and regional New Business Models within BCS Regional Venture teams and across Climate R&D.
Manage early-stage discovery phases such as product value proposition to enable new and existing pilots in the Crop Protection space.
Work closely with the Marketing team to evaluate potential market size, market capture, market segments and capture customer insights and feedback on product development since the early stage of the product development.
Collaborate with the business to understand customer pain points/goals and share them in a program requirements document.
Lead and facilitate a number of interactions with technical and business stakeholder groups to identify requirements and gaps to drive successful backlog refinement and sequencing to support business use cases.
Understands the entire customer experience and collaborates with the appropriate stakeholders to design and build viable, feasible and desirable solutions.
Assists in quantifying and communicating the value of pilots within Climate and to BCS.
Define program metrics to ascertain program effectiveness to fuel changes and enhancements in future interactions of the pilot
Bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences, business administration, or software engineering, and 5 or more years of experience developing data models or digital products. An advanced degree is a plus (e.g., MBA, Ph.D.);
Strong understanding of the Ag supply chain, including key customer segments and Bayer Crop Protection product portfolio. A professional experience in the commercial Crop Protection industry is a plus;
Excellent team- and relationship-building abilities, with both internal and external parties (engineers, data scientists, business partners, etc.);
Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and maintain a keen attention to detail;
Natural tendency to be positive, creative, and curious;
Team player who enjoys collaborating with others;
Genuine empathy toward customers and commitment to diving into the weeds on their challenges;
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to influence cross-functional teams via diplomacy and tact;
Proven ability to learn quickly
Experience with geospatial analysis;
Experience in and passion for agriculture
Experience, acumen, and interest in both STEM concepts and business principles
Strong technical aptitude - no coding experience required, but an understanding of the technology stack is critical to success
Self-starter with a high level of agility to adapt to dynamic business needs
Autonomy to uncover challenges and build solutions without a great deal of direction; comfortable with ambiguity
Excellent written and oral communications skills
