Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Blockchain Services is seeking a Network Design Consultant for its global practice. As part of IBM’s Global Business Services division, IBM Blockchain Services is charged with educating the market about blockchain, advising clients on how blockchain can improve their businesses, and helping to scale blockchain networks on behalf of clients. IBM Blockchain Services is seeking a Network Design Consultant.
The Network Design Consultant will wear multiple hats, and can expect to:
Deliver consulting engagements for clients, defining key governance and commercial strategies for blockchain networks, including but not limited to:
Governance Design
Network intent and go-to-market strategy
Operational models, inclusive of team structures, voting processes, and change management policies
Membership models
Recruitment strategies
Commercial frameworks
Metrics and measurement
Legal and regulatory considerations
Business Value Design
Market assessments
Marketplace frameworks
Business model principles
Economic and financial modeling, including tokenomics
Income and cost forecasting
Return on investment schedules
Lead or support network design-focused Enterprise Design Thinking workshops both pre- and post-sale
Develop new strategic consulting methods and artifacts in network design and other related areas to enable scale across the practice
Support thought leadership, offering management, enablement, marketing and communications efforts
Collaborate with colleagues across all divisions of IBM
Define, reflect on, and evolve network design work in blockchain projects from inception through delivery and scale
This an opportunity to work in a global role and help build a strategy practice in one of IBM’s “hypergrowth” areas.
Responsibilities include:
Strategic engagement leadership, setting high-level goals that ensure a consistent and engaging client experience
Hands-on work creating strategic consulting deliverables as required by client engagements
Juggling of multiple ongoing projects
Day-to-day collaboration with peers and communication with extended team members
Creation of artifacts and tools to support new consulting methods
Workshop planning, facilitation, and/or participation, both internal and external
Working with designers, consultants, architects, and others to ensure delightful client experiences
Inspiring and cultivating a team culture that values diversity, inclusion and equity in the spirit of encouraging all members to bring their “whole self to work”
Mentorship of other team members as appropriate
Skills Required:
• Excellent creative, conceptual and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong strategic skills in assessing business and user scenarios, approaches and deliverables
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize technology trends, user needs, market data, and related information
• Ability to work independently, when needed, as well as collaborate with a cross-functional team
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and storytelling
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to receive and respond to feedback
• Strong project management skills
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 5+ years of consulting experience (or experience commensurate to a Senior Consultant or Managing Consultant)
• Professional experience history that displays a solid understanding of consulting principles, thought leadership, strategic thinking, and project management
• Pragmatism in negotiating tradeoffs and plans, informed by stakeholder inputs
• Demonstration of committed and respectful collaboration between members of cross-functional teams
• Readiness to travel up to 30% annually (likely 1-2 trips per month)
• English: Fluent
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience with business strategy, legal or contract design
Blockchain, AI, IoT, 5G, Quantum, Platform economy, tokenization
Detail-oriented, strategic thinker, proactive, entrepreneurial, growth mindset, intellectual curiosity, team player, adaptable
