Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of University Advancement. This position is for the Danforth Campus. Limited travel may be required. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of Talent Acquisition and Pipeline Development reports to the Senior Director of Administration. The Manager works closely with the Senior Director in the development, implementation, and evaluation of recruitment and engagement strategies to attract a diverse talent pool and improve retention for University Advancement. This includes creating and conducting outreach, sourcing candidates, assisting in interviewing and selection, and supporting our hiring managers throughout the process. Serve as a resource and expert to hiring managers regarding recruiting and employment best practices and policies. Develop and facilitate related training, in close collaboration with WashU HR. The Manager supports other administrative processes and special projects of Advancement Administration, as requested, all in support of the fundraising, alumni, and parent programs of the University. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide support and counsel to managers in all phases of the hiring process. Collaborate with hiring managers to develop a recruitment plan specific to their staffing needs, with the goal of attracting a diverse pool of candidates for each opening. Coordinate with hiring managers and HR on the preparation of job descriptions. Understand job duties, responsibilities, and requirements for open positions. Understand culture, expectations, and methods of operation for each area. In collaboration with WashU HR and hiring managers, screen applications, conduct phone screens, and interview applicants for open positions. 2. Develop and implement a proactive recruitment, outreach, and engagement strategy, to increase the size, quality, and diversity of candidate pools. Maintain list of potential candidates and refer for open positions as appropriate. Network both internally and externally. Conduct outreach efforts, including representing University Advancement at job fairs, conferences, and events, and following up with candidates, as appropriate. Manage recruiting web pages. Market and manage the University Advancement Employee Referral Program. Review metrics of program to help in creating enhanced visibility and success in hires. 3. Manage recruiting tools. Evaluate effectiveness of initiatives, tools, and strategies. Benchmark and stay current with best practices of peer institutions and industry trends. Make recommendations to improve recruitment and retention tools and practices, attentive to the goal of improving diversity and inclusion. Develop and facilitate related training, in coordination with WashU HR. 4. In coordination with the Administration team and EVC Office, develop and maintain policies and procedures for advancement recruitment and ensure the policies and procedures are followed. In collaboration with WashU HR, ensure all hiring practices comply with government regulations, University policies, and department guidelines. 5. Seek opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance. 6. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree. * Minimum of three to five years of experience in Human Resources, recruiting, executive search, or related experience. * Ability to work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting, across all levels of theorganization. * Discretion, sensitivity to others, flexibility, and an ability to partner well with colleagues. * Commitment to excellent customer service and willingness to seek feedback on services provided. * Deep commitment to and demonstrated success in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. * Excellent written, oral, and active listening communication skills. * Self-motivated, able to work independently with high attention to detail and follow up, ability to prioritize work, and excellent organizational skills. * Good sense of humor. * Computer literate and competent, especially with Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications * Sophistication with employee recruitment, development, and training. * Experience designing and implementing recruiting programs focused on diversity and inclusion. * Experience in a complex, academic, or large non-profit setting. * Demonstrated understanding of University Advancement. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $52,943 - $68,816 annually.
