Position Summary
Functioning in a global capacity and reporting to the Director, Global Trade Compliance, the Global Trade Compliance Analyst is an individual contributor role in the Trade Compliance organization. Responsibilities include support of specific trade compliance activities set by Trade Compliance Leadership with an overarching focus on improved compliance across the organization. The Global Trade Compliance Analyst supports compliance results through analysis of trade data, knowledge of trade regulations and collaboration with functional leaders and teams across the company.
Accountabilities
Support trade compliance activities and ensure requirements and data are shared across the organization.
Communicate relevant trade requirements to internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with business execution.
Support the business in implementing compliant movement of goods in/out of the Americas.
Support implementation of trade compliance processes, procedures, and tools by embedding trade compliance requirements as necessary.
Support implementation of trade compliance best practices enterprise-wide.
Specific Accountabilities
Review and assign U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (USHTS) and Non-U.S. Harmonized System (HS) classification, maintain accuracy and integrity of classifications in the global product database.
Provide guidance to brokers and freight forwarders to ensure compliant and timely execution of import and export filings.
Execute transactional import and export audits to ensure compliance with local regulations; identify areas of risk or non-compliance and implement corrective action plans to address them.
Generate Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure compliance posture of internal trade compliance team along with customs brokers, freight forwarders and suppliers.
Analyze import/export data along with product flows to identify duty mitigation opportunities.
Support Free Trade Agreement solicitations and qualification process.
Provide guidance to the business on the applicability of local trade compliance requirements in conjunction with trade compliance management oversight.
Support the development and implementation of enterprise trade compliance processes/polices, training and tools.
Ensure compliance with all local recordkeeping requirements.
Perform Denied Party Screening (DPS) and partner with Compliance and Legal departments to address any potential parties of concern.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience)
3+ years of global trade compliance, import/export compliance, or related experience
Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified US Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO) a plus, but not required
Familiarity with the Global Trade Management (GTM) system
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
Microsoft Office skill required, strong Excel and Access skills preferred
Sensitivity to cross-cultural relationships
10%-20% travel may be required
Fluent in English, required
Fluent in Spanish, highly preferred
