The Role

The Financial Development Program (FDP) is one of Cigna’s premier rotational programs for outstanding MBA candidates who aspire to join a growth-oriented company and take part in the healthcare industry revolution. We are committed to recruiting, motivating and nurturing the best and the brightest regardless of industry experience. Your skills, experiences, talents and creativity enable us to develop the meaningful, innovative solutions our customers value and expect.

Using a best-in-class competency-based development model, the FDP challenges its associates through three to five highly-cross functional rotations that each typically span up to two years. We work with you to customize your rotational experience based on work experience, career goals, and Cigna’s business needs to drive rotation selection. Over the course of the program, you will gain the competencies, confidence, and organizational support to fill key leadership positions across the enterprise.

The FDP further cultivates business acumen through structured trainings that will help you learn more about the industry, our culture, and our strategy. The program offers a robust mentorship program that provides the opportunity to learn from mentors at multiple levels of the organization and gain exposure to senior and executive leadership. Within the FDP, there are no limits to the opportunities to learn and grow as a leader.

Key tenets of the FDP experience include:

  • Accelerated professional development to gain the skills necessary to succeed in a leadership role post-graduation

  • Act as a key trusted advisor and have direct and quantitative impact on business results

  • Exposure to senior leaders with focused mentorship, leadership coaching, and professional networking

  • Tailored training opportunities, technical, and professional to help you with your career development

  • Three to five rotational assignments ranging 12-24 months in duration, aligned to personal development goals and Cigna’s growth strategy

  • Understanding of key stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem, as well as our diverse customer segments and distribution channels

  • Healthcare Pricing

  • Treasury / Capital Management

  • Robotic Process Engineering

The FDP is currently recruiting for the following locations:

  • Bloomfield, CT (Cigna Headquarters)

  • Philadelphia, PA

  • Nashville, TN

  • St. Louis, MS

As you progress in your rotations, you may pursue opportunities in other Cigna locations throughout the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Masters of Business Administration or CPA

  • 3-5 years of professional experience preferred

  • Aptitude to work in a variety of functions and environments, with strategic and global mindset

  • Desire to pursue a career in the healthcare industry

  • Evidence of strong analytic problem-solving abilities, innovative thinking, communication skills, and business acumen

  • Initiative and dedication to growth into a multi-talented business leader

  • Proven track record of delivering results and influencing across a matrixed organization

  • This role is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future .
