Salary

  • Minimum: $41,730.00

  • Maximum: $65,234.00

    Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position are responsible for performing a variety of secretarial/administrative support duties and supervising office activities and clerical staff for a City department director requiring independent judgment, discretion and considerable knowledge of City operations and department policies, procedures and activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of advanced secretarial and administrative support experience in an office environment. Thirty (30) hours of College coursework in Business Administration or a related field may substitute for one year of the required experience. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Documentation of academic credentials (if applicable) must be submitted upon request.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.

Some positions may require candidates to pass a “Character Investigation” prior to appointment.

Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
