Supply Chain - Pharma Strategy & Contracting combines the coordination and management of the company’s key supplier groups under a single management team. Major suppliers include brand and generic pharmaceutical manufacturers, retail pharmacies and drug wholesalers.
Express Scripts, a leading pharmacy benefit manager with the nation's largest mail order-pharmacy operations, assists its customers to moderate the cost and enhance the quality of prescription drug benefits provided to members nationwide. Its customers include private- and public-sector employers and healthcare organizations.
Provides counsel and advice to Formulary Consulting Leadership on significant Clinical Program Management matters, often requiring coordination between cross functional teams. Focuses on providing clinical thought leadership and analytical expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex clinical management assignments. Represents company externally and serves as conduit to educate and enable coordination and dissemination of clinical rebate strategies among key stakeholders resulting in an optimal formulary consulting experience and enhanced customer satisfaction. Serves as a clinical advisor resource to the sales organization, providing ongoing clinical rebate industry knowledge/education that positively influence cost, quality and customer satisfaction.
Provide custom formulary consulting model consultation and through contract interpretation and strategic opportunity identification
Provide expert custom formulary modeling and guidance for clients in alignment with department strategy
Develop and execute the strategy for formulary modeling for complex RFP requests- prospect clients and client renewals in alignment with department strategy
Provides advice and clinical perspective regarding on complex rebate modeling formulary matters
Mentor Advisors and help support department training needs, including content development as necessary
Ensures optimization of work processes for custom formulary consulting and achievement of department goals
Create and deliver client presentations for large and most complex clients and their leadership
Support modeling strategies from a clinical perspective (Competitive Product Category, Utilization Management interpretation)
Act as a resource to field clinical questions from other formulary consulting team members
Review custom health plan Utilization Management policies to determine rebate eligibility or adherence to rebate contract terms.
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharm.D. preferred, with current active U.S. Pharmacist License
5-7 years of working in the pharmacy environment
4 years of significant formulary management/development experience
Detail Oriented Organizational, and Analytical skills
Excellent PC skills – including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access, experience with database
Financial or analytical modeling experience
Familiarity with pharmaceutical rebate contracts a plus
Proven ability to work in a fast paced – ever changing environment
Excellent relationship building and cross functional skills
Ability to travel approximately 10%.
