What You Will Do
The Capacity Management Specialist provides process expertise and leadership in the Demand and Capacity Management department. This individual will be responsible for continuous process improvement, engaging the business to provide training and gather input, monitoring compliance and issue remediation for capacity management, resource management and scheduling across IT services managed by internal and external teams.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating estimates (resource, cost and schedule) during the qualification phase.
Working with the Demand and Capacity Management team, ensures that project resource plans are confirmed and scheduled
Monitors resource plan records to ensure that resource managers are reviewing, confirming and allocating resources in alignment with expected time-frame (service level agreements)
Monitor, evaluate and report on process metrics to identify issues for action
Identify and evaluate issues and take appropriate action for resolution
Collaborates with demand managers and estimation specialist to complete resource plans for required resources for the demands
Facilitates demand forecasting and scheduling activities
Maintains knowledge of capacity management tools and processes and identifies improvements
Collaborates with process and tools owners to identify opportunities for continuous process improvement
Coordinates enterprise communications, including those to other departments, business partners, vendors, and outside agencies
Acts as a liaison with other process teams across the enterprise
Reviews trending and historical data to provide better and more accurate estimates

Demonstrates good documentation and presentation skills (verbal and written)
Qualifications:
BS in IT, business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
3 - 5 years related experience (demand management, project scheduling, resource planning or project management)
Operational familiarity with IT services and experience interacting with vendors as it relates to planning and scheduling the delivery of such services
Healthcare provider industry experience is preferred
What You Will Need
Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.
Work Experience:
- 3 years of experience preferred.
