This is the highest-level technical actuarial position without management responsibilities. This role will be focused on our National network valuation and discount position, including comparative analysis to competition. This will be a very visible position in our ASO actuarial team with internal interaction with Sales, Account Management, and Underwriting. The position will also require external interaction with Consultants/Brokers.
The Associate Actuary will identify, evaluate and respond to ASO financial drivers and communicate to various stakeholders.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Assist with articulating and demonstrating our Anthem financial value delivered to our largest and most innovative ASO clients.
Monitors client trends and provides actionable insights using Anthem’s cutting edge predictive analytics framework.
Educate underwriting and account management on various factors in supporting an accurate financial forecast for our ASO clients.
Identify new process improvement opportunities driving improved actuarial insights and client financial analysis.
Develop and maintain relationships with local leadership and external brokers/consultants where appropriate.
Organizes and supports financial representation during RFP’s.
Prepares and interprets data and related formulae.
Requires a BS/BA degree; ASA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA); at least 4 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Consulting experience desired.
Proficient in MS Excel required.
