What You Will Do

This associate is expected to update, maintain, and create valuation models used to project liabilities/assets for various health plans and value-based contracts. Preferably this associate has experience with reserving, valuation, regulatory, and finance concepts and can effectively lead projects, recommend actions, and communicate results.


  • Update reserve and shared risk/shared savings models utilizing various data sources.

  • Validate data and model changes to ensure accuracy, evaluate actual vs. forecasted results, and make strategic recommendations.

  • Identify problems as they arise and handle proactively and independently.

  • Make existing model enhancements and develop new valuation models as necessary.

  • Maintain documentation and controls and participate in peer reviews.

  • Adhere to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines.

  • Assist and take ownership of new projects as they arise.

  • Respond to regular and ad-hoc internal and external audit and data requests.

  • Communicate actuarial results and recommended actions to both actuarial and non-actuarial audiences.

  • What You Will Need


  • Required Credential(s):

  • Associate Certification credentialed from the Society of Actuaries obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.


  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of actuarial experience preferred.

  • Healthcare experience preferred.

  • Valuation experience preferred.

  • Strong technical skills required (Excel required, SQL preferred).
