Internship Summary

The Internship Program with Ascension is designed to provide an on-the-job learning opportunity aimed at gaining "real world" work experience in a large healthcare environment, supporting leadership with data driven insights that deliver value to those we serve. Ascension’s objective is to provide a working and learning environment where interns can develop the skills and competencies necessary to grow into successful professionals and potential Ascension associates. The intern will work in the Clinical Data Warehouse team, within the Ascension Data Delivery & Governance (ADDG) team.

What You Will Do

As a Data Intern you will have the opportunity to participate in the Clinical Data warehouse project management and sprint planning process.

Essential Functions:

  • Work on a large, complex project to include working with a remote team to increase visibility on issues or roadblocks to sprint deliverables.

  • Conduct end to end analysis, make recommendations, and present results.

  • Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams.

  • Produce sprint metrics and run retrospectives.

  • Identifies trends and makes recommendations for improvement.

What You Will Need

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics Linguistics, Operations Research, a related technical field or a related field preferred.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Effective analytical and project management skills.

  • Preferred JIRA experience

  • Deals well with ambiguity and “start-up” environments.

  • Excellent communication skills.

What You Will Need

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • Enrolled in degreed program specific to discipline required.
