Position Summary

The Corporate Controller will serve as the principal accounting officer for this privately held business, exhibiting the highest level of ethical responsibility. The Corporate Controller will work closely with the senior financial and leadership teams of LMI. Working with the leadership team, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for accounting and reporting of financial results and the implementation of overall controls and processes. The Corporate Controller will serve as the principal resource for SEC, US GAAP & Belgium GAAP compliance matters, internal audit and outside audit information. The Corporate Controller will lead all tax matters of LMI. The Controller must be prepared to manage the financial systems to ensure the company meets its financial objectives. The Controller will serve as the key accounting and financial reporting authority for the company and is responsible for timeliness, accuracy and completion of all financial information. While performing all duties and responsibilities, the individual will at all times, model LMI values and principals and act in a manner consistent with the LMI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provides appropriate analysis, customer service, guidance and counsel to LMI’s business unites on matters impacting Company financial results.

  • Stays abreast of changes to LMIA’s major customers, supplier businesses and overall aerospace industry in an effort to help LMIA Leadership make well informed business decisions.

  • Provides leadership to the Corporate Controller organization operating business units to ensure LMI attracts and retains a talented and diverse team.

  • Ensures accounting policy is consistently applied and documented as needed throughout LMI and in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

  • Stays abreast of new accounting and income tax regulations, ensures LMIA’s compliance with them and educate the Leadership Team on the impacts of Company overall financial results.

  • Ensures a robust and well-documented control structure in place that will minimize the risk of financial misstatements.

  • Ensures the financial statements and related records are produced timely, efficiently and accurately.

  • Leads the audit and maintains a constant and open relationship with external auditors.

  • Minimizes the risk of surprising stakeholders by providing frequent and accurate information.

  • Works closely with senior financial leadership team to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.

  • Works closely with other key relationship including CFO, HR, executive compensation and operations.

  • Builds relationships with LMIA’s key lending institutions.

  • Reviews contracts for financial implications including customer, supplier, insurance, and credit agreements and provide guidance on risk mitigation.

  • Facilitates team improvement activities spanning multiple processes with diverse teams in various geographical areas.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA, CPA Certification, and MBA is preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of corporate accounting and finance experience required.

  • Experience with cost accounting in manufacturing and knowledge of the Aerospace industry is preferred.

  • Strong leadership and proven record of success.

  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and shifting time requirements, while working with employees in remote locations.

  • Must be able to promote a participative, team oriented environment, working with customers (both internal and external), suppliers, all employees, and others in a professional and respectful manner.

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and present general business and technical materials, specifically with respect to quality systems and processes.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret, understand and deal with abstract and concrete variables at the same time.

  • Excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally orally and in writing, as well as direct communication with customers and regulatory agencies.
