What you’ll get to do as an IPS Employment Specialist:
IPS supported employment specialists help people living with behavioral health conditions work at regular jobs of their choosing.
Provides a full range of supported employment services in a timely manner; teach and assist with job-seeking efforts such as resume writing, online applications, interview skills, etc.
Assesses participants’ vocational functioning on ongoing basis utilizing background information, work experiences, mental health team, family, etc.
Assists clients in obtaining information about their benefits (e.g., SSI, Medicaid, etc.) and how they will be affected by employment in order for clients to make good decisions about employment opportunities.
Conducts job development and job search activities directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the people on his/her caseload, following the principles and procedures of IPS supported employment.
Develops relationships with employers through job development and utilizes these relationships to match client strengths and interests with employer needs.
Provides outreach services as necessary to clients when they appear to disengage from IPS services.
Prepares necessary quarterly reports and status updates for IPS fidelity and vocational rehabilitation.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors of Science in the field of Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Recreational Therapist, Human Development and Family Studies, Gerontology, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Sociology
Or equivalent education plus experience in related fields of employment services/case management.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
