-This position is responsible for all functions associated with the successful completion of payroll processing in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
-Performance of these time sensitive responsibilities requires experience with third party payroll processing software, having a detail-oriented mindset, ability to use sound critical thinking skills, and possess an aptitude for process improvement. -
-Processing of bi-weekly payroll, including salary, bonus, commissions, benefits and taxes ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
-Act as a coordinator for all employee payroll activity as well advise employees on payroll rules and regulations
-Maintain third party payroll software module in conjunction with HR; ensuring applicable updates to maintain federal, state and local compliance and alignment with HR processes and best practices.
-Setup and maintain proper mapping of personnel expense and liability accounts from payroll software to general ledger.
-Maintain and reconcile all personnel related expense accounts on company general ledger to payroll system on a bi-weekly basis.
-Prepare monthly payroll accrual for financial statements.
-Critically review and analyze current payroll, 401k and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations; updating and documenting procedures.
-Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
-Partner with HR in 401(k) administrations, census requests, and other confidential reporting
-Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience including 2 years working with a third party payroll software
-Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
-Multi state payroll experience.
-Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and a high level of attention to detail.
-Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office tools with a strong focus on excel.
