GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Under general supervision, but following existing policies and procedures as well as all applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, is responsible for processing all Automatic Clearing House (ACH) files received from the Federal Reserve and bank customers. Responsible for reconciling all general ledger accounts related to the ACH function, positive pay processing, and working exception items. Responds to all ACH inquiries and resolves routine problems for all internal and external customers.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Responsible for reconciling all general ledger accounts related to the ACH function, positive pay processing, and working exception items. Responds to all ACH inquiries and resolves routine problems for all internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for processing and balancing outgoing ACH files submitted by originators. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

  2. Responsible for monitoring the outgoing ACH file exceptions and retrieving officer approval for processing of exception files. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

  3. Responsible for regular monitoring and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts pertaining to ACH items. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  4. Processes all reclamation requests and death notifications for benefit of the government entities. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  5. Processes ACH memo-post and un-post item exceptions, following policies and procedures, with special attention to NACHA rules and guidelines. Works closely with Deposit Services personnel to ensure the resolution of problems regarding insufficient and un-posted ACH items. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.

  6. Processes returns and corrections for originated transactions. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.

  7. Responds to all internal and external customer inquiries in a timely, effective, and professional manner. This may include but is not limited to providing reconciliation balancing reports to participating customers, receiving and loading bank to bank transfers, ACH recurring stop payment requests, and ACH item research requests. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
