ACCOUNTANT
ACCOUNTANT Job Overview: The Accountant assists in providing financial information to management by analyzing accounting data. As an accountant, you should have superior organizational skills, have a solid understanding of GAAP and be able to build relationships. This key position will have an opportunity to interact with other areas of our growing finance department and operations and learn our newly implemented WorkDay Financials software.
Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:
Support month-end and year-end close process
Support year end external audit
Prepare journal entries, maintain records and files for departments and companies assigned
Use knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to accurately record financial data
Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options; research options if needed
Assist in preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports
Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and regularly maintain detail of all balance sheet accounts
Provide detailed analysis and explanations for all transactions
Opportunities to present and report to stakeholders and provide recommendations to Finance and Operational leadership
May assist with budgeting/forecasting process for departments and/or companies assigned
May assist with accounting related to Grants, HUD and LIHTC projects
What you will bring: You’ll bring a positive attitude with years of knowledge and experience in the accounting field and be ready to embrace change and technology. You’ll be detail oriented and have passion for process improvement and be able to connect with other team members and share your knowledge.Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required. 3+ years of experience in accounting is preferred.
