POSITION SUMMARY The Sr. UX Researcher uses advanced knowledge of social science and some prior experience to participate in analytical, experimental, investigative and other technical fact-finding work for defining feature behavior or enhancements for significant portions of the user experience supporting product development; receiving minimal guidance. The researcher will use qualitative or quantitative tools to identify business trends and uncover user experience problems through observational or behavioral data analysis as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Perform in-depth theoretical and experimental scientific and technological investigation toward the acquisition of new knowledge e.g. moderating interviews, usability, focus groups, contextual evaluations, diary studies; design and program surveys. * Prepare comprehensive documented observations, analyses and interpretations of results including technical reports, summaries, protocols and qualitative or quantitative analyses. * Interpret results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via observational or statistical analysis to complex data mining or modeling independently. * Present findings to stakeholder audiences in a coherent, actionable format. * Design, develop, and implement imaginative thorough research plans and recruitment criteria with stakeholder input that is consistent with organization objectives. * Apply advanced knowledge of social science, health information technology and eCommerce best practices to identify research needs, define testable hypotheses and locate existing information sources. * Work closely with various stakeholders e.g. product, design, development to produce high quality, innovative designs that leverage research insights. * Provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems of moderate scope. * Be a customer advocate, with a familiarity of competitive experiences and ESI research findings that you are able to apply toward expert evaluation of internal products and ensuring teams have a clear picture of the end users of the experience QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor s degree in related field or 11 to 14 years of experience. * 5-8 years relevant experience with Bachelor s Degree or Master s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience. * Training in psychology, anthropology, human factors, HCI, market research, or a similar discipline and an interest in applying that training to product design and/or service delivery. * Quantitative researchers only - Expertise in SQL, Excel, R or Python or SPSS; All- Proficient in MS Office suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; All - strong written and verbal communication skills for research communication and design recommendations. * Quant : Analytics, univariate and multivariate statistics. * Social science research methods relevant toe.g. usability, surveys, observation, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, foundational statistics.
