Spire is seeking a Talent Development, Sr. Specialist position out of our St. Louis location. This position will help lead performance management, succession and development initiatives, and organizational development sessions to help individual employees and teams across Spire. This role is also responsible for collaborating with the Human Resources Information Systems team to focus on talent tools, systems and technology, career pathways, and organization structures. The position is housed in the Human Resources department and works closely with Information Systems, Communications and Marketing, and numerous business leaders across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and automate Spire’s new learning management system (My Learning) and all its capabilities to continuously improve the value of learning at Spire
Coach Talent Development’s system managers on how to best utilize talent systems including Enable Now, Open Sesame, JAM, edX, SuccessFactors, etc.
Serve as the Talent Development team’s HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) point of contact for optimizing new and existing talent technology tools and systems
Understand the Talent Development’s system capabilities to interface and improve integration points with other systems and modules
Collaborate with partners to determine system requirements, test, and deploy systems and solutions
Strengthen HR analytics, including enhancement of supporting technologies
Define and lead the execution and continuous evolution of the performance management program, including ownership of the program process, timing and enrichment
Assist leading regular succession and development efforts to ensure Spire’s leadership pipeline is robust and help employees meet current and future professional goals
Support Talent Development’s vision to create informed, intentional development by creating and facilitating in-house/ad-hoc training, assessment analyses, and training workshops
Essential Characteristics and Competencies
Required Education (certifications, licenses)
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. Concentration in human resources, organizational development, or related field preferred
DiSC and Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team is preferred
SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CPTD or similar certification is preferred
Required knowledge, skill and abilities
7+ years of relevant experience in talent systems and development, learning and development, and / or organizational development
Experience leading an organization-wide HR systems initiative is required
Experience developing and facilitating/delivering training to groups is required
Experience managing performance management processes is preferred
Experience working with teams across locations or geographies is preferred
Prior experience as an administrator or skilled user of enterprise Human Capital Management (HCM) software, preferably SAP SuccessFactors
Ability to collect, quantify, and analyze HR and business data to improve workforce performance
Strong business acumen and knowledge of business and organizational issues and challenges
Strong program management skills with demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and execute enterprise-wide strategies
Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple, complex projects concurrently, while developing associated content, formats, and methods
Demonstrated ability to interact with leadership to determine needs and translate those needs into process improvement proposals
Demonstrated ability to strategize and develop innovative solutions for diverse audiences
Ability to deliver high quality, effective learning by designing, executing, and facilitating in-house/ad-hoc training and assessment analyses (could include DiSC, 5 Behaviors of a Cohesive Team, EQ-i, StrengthsFinder, etc.), manage vendors and budget coordination
Strength in the following skills is needed for success: Formal presentation & facilitation, collaboration & partnership, and written & verbal communication
Physical demands, environment and schedule
Work is performed in a shared office environment
Typically, 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday
