SSM Health Reg Dir-Finance, Government Reimbursement in Saint Louis, Missouri

  • Assists system and regional leadership in the development of effective strategies that appropriately optimize net revenue associated with third party governmental reimbursement.

  • Oversees the preparation and submission of cost reports and other governmental reimbursement submissions such as DSH surveys, occupational mix surveys, low volume adjustment requests, and group appeals as appropriate by facility.

  • Manages the relationship between SSM and outside organizations involved with government and third-party reimbursement including timely response to all requests and inquiries from auditors/examiners acting on behalf of governmental entities.

  • Actively monitors changes in proposed and final regulations, coordinates the financial analysis to value the impact to the organization, and effectively communicates financial impacts and operational changes that are necessary for compliance to leadership.

  • Participates in the financial statement close process, providing timely estimates of government reimbursement implications to the current financial performance along with strategies/opportunities to improve. Serves as the reimbursement contact for the external audit.

  • Oversees the Medicare and Medicaid enrollment processes including revalidations, transactions, and other organizational changes.

  • Manages staff which includes recruitment, orientation, training, performance management, as well as the development of staff. Responsible for management functions including activities related to staffing such as recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluation. Provides support and acts as a mentor while providing guidance to ensure their success.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other financial related field.


  • Ten-year’s experience, including specialized experience with reimbursement regulations and cost report preparation, with a minimum of three-years in leadership.
