Kforce has a client that is seeking a Procurement/Accounting Coordinator in Saint Louis, MO.Summary:This position is part of a team that provides excellent customer service in the areas of procurement and general accounting for the DCM and OVCR Business Office. A high degree of professionalism and accuracy is expected at all times. In the primary role of animalprocurement, this position will work with a team to provide coverage and expertise for Comparative Medicine in the acquisition and movement of research animals across multiple locations at the University through independent review and approval of orders for allresearch labs. This position maintains a high level of service and commitment to the research mission of the University as it relates to the procurement of live specimens. This position will also cross-train to support the billing functions and other business office accountingfunctions, as needed.Responsibilitlies:

  • Create, review, approve and confirm transactions across multiple systems for animal procurement and delivery including purchase orders, change orders, transfers, logistics, and adjustments

  • Coordinate with veterinarian staff for air shipments

  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors, customers, project stakeholders, and facilities and relays/resolves issues as they arise

  • Generate and disseminate weekly delivery schedules and cage cards to Comparative Medicine facility managers

  • Ensure all confirmations and packing slips are affixed in Marketplace for all orders received before the end of the fiscal year for departmental review

  • Cross-train to provide back-up and support for billing staff

  • Perform other ad hoc business office duties, as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in AIS

  • Experience in Marketplace

  • Experience processing financial transactions in a fund accounting in a professional environment

  • Possess an aptitude for patience, professionalism, tactfulness, and empathy

  • Ability to assess the specific needs of the customer and be able to communicate these to the managers

  • Ability to clearly communicate and build strong relationships with stakeholders, management, and university leaders

  • Ability to anticipate issues, think proactively, and use critical thinking in eliciting and interacting with others

  • Ability to work directly with customers in order to understand their business needs and able to act as a liaison between customers, vendors, and the business office
