Pre-Examiner - Partial Remote

We are looking for a highly skilled business professional for full time employment at U.S. Title in our Clayton office.

Job Summary:

The Pre-Examiner will process orders by doing research on the recorded history of matters which affect the title to parcels of real property (property, individuals, businesses, etc.). Run Title Plant printout on property and mark up to determine what copies are needed. Obtain copies of priors, liens, vesting/ownership deeds, Deeds of Trust, assignments, easements, restrictions, judgments, estates, divorces, bankruptcies, suits, taxes, plats, maps, etc. Check special alerts on all parties. Compile all the information and create a preliminary file for examination. Other duties/projects upon request. Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement and essential function of all positions at U.S. Title.


  • Education – High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience is required.

  • License of Certification – Missouri Department of Insurance licensing or ability to meet the requirements for Missouri Department of Insurance licensing is required. Subject to required statutory continuing education requirements.

  • Special Skills – Must have excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers. Demonstrate aptitude to work collaboratively with others from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and viewpoints.

  • Requires ability to work independently and/or within a team structure.

  • Must also have ability to recognize the need to escalate matters when necessary.

  • Positive, clear communication skills and strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced organization with willingness to adapt quickly. Should possess good telephone and general computer skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products is preferred.

  • Work Experience – Previous work experience in a professional office environment is preferred. Prior knowledge and work experience of title examination and/or title industry is preferred.
