Robert Half International Payroll Manager in SAINT LOUIS, Missouri

Robert Half Management Resources is searching for a professional with project management experience for an interim opportunity as a Payroll Manager with a company in the Transport industry. In this Project Manager role, you will be working in all aspects of payroll operations, including vendor management, systems, and processes & integration. Your other contributions will consist of creating timely, accurate, and compliant payrolls, making improvements to currently existing processes, and creating exceptional customer experiences. Your responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior executives and cross-functional business leaders by providing information and responding to any questions

  • Work on weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs, in addition to interpreting pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and making sure accurate amounts/deductions are applied to earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws

  • Recommend, lead, and work on projects to continually review and improve current processes

  • Oversee pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies

  • Execute analysis on payroll

  • Keep a close eye on record keeping and control systems to produce internal safeguards

  • Join forces with fellow members of senior Finance leadership team

  • Make a team successful, as well as recruiting staff

  • Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis

  • Oversee internal and external audits

  • Lead payroll staff as well as operations Requirements - Less than one year of experience

  • Candidates with strong interpersonal skills will do well in this position

  • Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification recommended

  • Full Cycle Payroll experience desired

  • Proficiency in Form 1099

  • ADP Online experience required

  • W2 experience preferred

  • Understanding of multiple payroll applications

  • Some know-how of payroll-related cloud-based technology solutions

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
