SSM Health Director of Tax in Saint Louis, Missouri

Divison:

Exciting opportunity to work remotely as the Director of Tax. This role requires high level tax knowledge on the non-profit and profit side. Working with a great amount of tax returns in your background will help you succeed in this role as will an ability to work with special types of exemptions. Applicants must have solid tax exempt experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as primary tax advisor, supporting leadership concerning tax issues.

  • Develops tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance with tax laws.

  • Maintains tax records, and prepares tax returns in compliance with federal, state, local, and/or foreign tax laws.

  • Responsible for management functions including activities related to staffing such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluation, and compensation determination.

  • Develops solutions to properly pay or prove exemption from sales and use taxes across the system.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE

Seven years' experience, with five years' in leadership

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.
