This position will lead a team to drive investor financial strategy and play critical role in sourcing and maintaining investor relationships by meeting the financial needs of our investors from initial fund offerings to post close financial reporting in all asset classes. This position will manage a team who will work closely with the Syndications Business Development Team to strategize and compile fund offerings for potential investors, support the financial needs of the project management team to close transaction and be responsible for all the financial needs of the Fund Management team after we close the transactions including financial analysis, reporting, and true ups. The team will work closely with each business line of the CDC to coordinate pricing and financial models with the Syndications team. The team will research 10Ks and other investor information to determine potential investor prospects to market funds. There will be a need to understand the market in all tax credit asset classes. Finally, there is a high level of financial expertise required with excellent communication skills to understand, summarize, and explain complicated financial models.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
A successful candidate for the Director of Investor Strategy will demonstrate the ability or potential to lead a team to:
Design complicated fund offerings in all asset classes that meet the unique needs of different investors
Communicate with investors on specific details of fund offerings
Work with origination teams to coordinate pricing strategy and link to origination financial models
Meet the post-closing financial needs of the investor to support the Investment Fund Management team
Provide the necessary financial support to the investors and project management team throughout the closing process
Research and identify ideal customers to target with fund offerings
Manage staff of 1-3 initial people
Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or accounting, or equivalent work experience
Four or more years of experience in financial services and/or real estate activities and/or environmental finance
Three or more years of CDC experience or comparable work experience
MBA, CPA, JD, CFA or candidate for CFA, or comparable work experience
Excellent communication, customer relationship, and collaboration skills
Proficiency understanding and communicating financial models based on IRR and XIRR
Self-starter and able to work in environment with minimal direction
Strong understanding of real estate, environmental finance, LIHTC transactions, NMTC transactions, and REITC transactions
