Job DescriptionThis position maintains, develops and executes the Environmental Finance business line strategy to support financial and strategic priorities of U.S. Bank. The position ensures seamless customer interactions from the origination team through the lifecycle. In addition to supporting and managing a staff of 4 in business development, this person will meet with and become familiar with c-suite executives in renewable energy companies and manage the relationships among the BD team. The position will oversee in the marketing, acquisition and initial underwriting of loans and equity investments which will finance the installation of solar facilities and other renewable energy property across the country.

This position will work closely with syndications in coordinating and executing origination and syndication goals. This involves strategy related to pricing, financing structures, and relationship determinations.

This role will oversee the originations, broadly, of both debt and equity products and will work in collaboration with new product development and execution.

Essential Responsibilities: Sustain profitability and growth of unit(s). Provide strategic direction and leadership to pursue objectives of unit(s) Create and maintain cost-effective programs for unit(s) Actively ensure compliance with all US Bancorp policies and procedures such as Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, Etc.

Essential Qualifications: 8+ years of financial experience BA/MBA in finance, accounting, or other related field Well-developed leadership abilities and strategic management skills Knowledge of other business unit(s) within U.S. Bank Proficient oral, verbal and written communication skills Proficient analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills Proficient problem solving, negotiating, diplomatic and people skills. Demonstrated interest in promoting diversity in the workplace and a commitment to maximizing equitable access to the benefits of renewable energy. Familiarity with critical banking processes and procedures, including credit policy review and approval. Strong ability to develop trust and rapport with customers. Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively manage client timelines and needs. Ability to identify obstacles, manage expectations, both internally and externally. Essential Functions: Oversee and ensure quality, risk-mitigated financing opportunities which will meet or exceed tax credit delivery, loan origination, and revenue objectives. Supervise the primary relationship managers for a book of renewable energy developer customers. Decision on clients selection based on analysis and review of developer-produced investment proposals and models. Manage legal counsel relationships and other third-party experts in the exploration of critical transaction issues. Manage the day to day business line relationship with credit risk management related to term sheets for debt and tax equity opportunities. Ensure consistent delivery of tax equity and/or debt term sheets which detail, among other things, pricing proposals, structuring considerations, conditions to funding, and the allocation of transaction risks. Supports syndications/ capital markets efforts to maximize sale-side opportunities within secondary tax equity and debt markets. Oversee business development team in transitioning of originated investments to other internal teams. Demonstrates fluency in credit policy and best business practices. Serves as an external subject matter expert, often representing U.S. Bank in speaking roles and educational seminars. Efficiently prioritizes and completes a multitude of complex projects often on short timelines. Participates in special projects as required. Accountabilities: Decisions are made in collaboration with other senior leaders and business lines. Probable errors would have a material effect on major functions of the corporation.
