Summary of Position The Accountant is a member of the Accounting and Finance team working with the accounting systems to complete general accounting responsibilities. This position will be responsible for the monthly close cycle, account reconciliations, general ledger entries and researching/explaining variances. Essential Functions * Independently and accurately complete assigned monthly journal entries within published Accounting timeframe and guidelines, ensuring compliance with both US GAAP and IFRS * Maintain appropriate skills and knowledge of Accounting systems and tools * Maintain appropriate documentation and approvals for all transactions * Manage Inter-company activity and reconciliation * Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Sales and Use tax returns * Complete and review all assigned monthly and quarterly account reconciliations including general ledger account assignments in accordance with published Accounting timeframe and guidelines * Perform monthly/quarterly financial reporting analysis including, but not limited to: Monthly Financial Statement Analysis, Contract Analysis, Budget/Actual Analysis * Responsible for monthly/quarterly trend and budget variance explanations for financial reporting * Complete client required documents in a timely and accurate manner * Prepare the required Client Prepared Schedules and complete prior to the start of audit field work * Support Accounting by utilizing software to analyze data * Act as a back-up to Contracts, supporting customer pricing and rebates. * Assist in department process improvement and controls Perform special Projects assigned by management Requirements * Bachelor Degree with concentration in Accounting * 2-5 years of experience preferred with strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles GAAP; experience with IFRS a plus * CPA or MBA/MAcc preferred * Proficient skills with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word Working Conditions * Normal office environment Competencies Prioritizing and Organizing Work Communicating Effectively Driving Continuous ImprovementCurium is an equal opportunity employer and believes everyone deserves respect, dignity and equality.
