Cedar Fair Staff Accountant in Kansas City, Missouri

Performs professional accounting and administrative work to ensure timely and accurate reporting in the areas of daily operations and season passes, to complete all treasury requirements, to supervise concession contract tracking and payment calculation, and to complete and/or supervise account reconciliations in the areas of deferred revenue and credit card receivables, under limited supervision. Supervises the work of assigned seasonal accounting clerks. Performs related professional work as required.

  • Preparation and/or supervision of daily operating reports for distribution to management teams.

  • Reconciliation of Season Pass Holder accounts including the weekly reporting of such to management teams.

  • Preparation of weekly and monthly journal entries.

  • Assist with weekly financial statement preparation and review.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations.

  • Credit Card receipts reconciliations.

  • Tracking and annual renewal of various business licenses and vehicle registrations.

  • Accounts Receivable processing, including remote deposit of checks and money orders.

  • Work closely with sales department on creation of billing invoices for special events.

  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control processes, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, general ledger, and daily bookkeeping procedures.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • General computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and other accounting or operating systems.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs
