Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas Policy Analyst Intern in Kansas City, Missouri
This intern will lay the foundation for Goodwill’s advocacy on the 4th Industrial Revolution and the future state of work. This person will conduct research and draft a report and other communications for the purpose of raising public awareness of changes in the workforce being brought about by exponential technological advancement and creating the foundation for future legislation to protect vulnerable populations from these changes.
Job Duties include:
Draft a full white paper about the 4th industrial revolution, with guidance from Goodwill staff
Conduct research on the impact of the 4th industrial revolution
Conduct research on status quo laws related to job training and funding for workforce development at the federal, state, and local level
Evaluate the effects of current legislation and appropriations
Synthesize pre-collected data and research on the 4th industrial revolution
The Policy Analysis Intern will be a student or recent graduate with the following:
A degree, or pursuing a degree (with an interest in policy and/or writing and/or workforce development)
Ability to analyze data and other information quantitatively and qualitatively
Previous research experience
Excellent writing skills
Effective research ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Experience with internet search engines
Knowledge of research methodology
Knowledge of the legislative process
