WHO WE ARE:

The Greetings Marketing Department leads product development and marketing efforts that ensure Hallmark greeting cards are relevant and preferred in the marketplace and our customers see Hallmark as a best-in class partner.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Hallmark is looking for a creative, results-oriented Wal*Mart Shopper Marketing Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, product marketing environment to lead the strategic development and execution of shopper marketing plans with one of our largest retail customers. This experience will develop and showcase the ability to strategically evaluate business opportunities, develop deep shopper empathy to address shopper-based opportunities, and bring them to market to positively impact business sales and profitability. The Marketing Manager provides strategic thought leadership, leads granular investigation of consumer and business hypotheses and develops strategic activation frameworks to guide development of plans to maximize business performance for their assigned retail customer.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Ensure marketing is aligned with key business partners (internal and external to Hallmark) so that marketing investment choices can be assessed and planned within the overall marketing budget, to ensure business goals can be met, and to build credit and support from customer and retail teams.

  • Build the portfolio of business and strategic options that guide development of high impact, high ROI marketing programs for their assigned retail customer.

  • Collaborate very closely with key leaders across client areas (e.g., Product, Customers and Retail Category Buyer), Marketing and support areas (e.g., external agencies, internal creative marketing studio) to maximize effectiveness of marketing strategy planning and execution.

  • Provide thought leadership within a retailer’s shopper marketing strategy by defining key problems to solve for customer, shopper and product brands as well as identifying future growth opportunities

  • Plays key role as member of the Customer team to help manage Joint Business Planning, total priorities, alignment meetings, and customer requests

  • Inspire agency partners and internal creative studios to develop differentiated omnichannel solutions grounded in insights

  • Champion new ways to engage shoppers across the path to purchase

  • Provide rigorous analysis of marketing plan results and recommendations for future programming

  • Comfortable with unfamiliar situations in order to test and learn so that we can advance and share new learnings in order to create best practices

  • Build and manage shopper marketing budget to maximize spend and deliver results

Hallmark will consider candidates in Kansas City or Bentonville or reasonable Remote option with Travel.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • 7+ years of commercial experience in product/brand marketing, retail marketing, trade marketing, sales, market research and/or agency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume will stand out if you have:

  • MBA with a marketing concentration

  • Prior Marketing experience within consumer packaged goods company

  • Prior Customer management/Account management experience

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Creative thinking and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines

  • Strategic thinker with a bias toward action

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Sets an example of personal integrity, trust, dignity, respect, and diversity of thought

  • Prior experience leveraging consumer insights to develop effective marketing programs and campaigns
