As one of UMB’s leading lines of business, the Private Wealth Management team is made up of several different areas leading individuals and families regarding Investment Management, Financial Planning, Estate and Trust Planning, and Private Banking. As financial lifestyles evolve, and enter into different stages of the wealth cycle, clients have a guiding partner from financial advising and wealth building strategies to help legacy preservation. Through time tested and results oriented solutions, we help clients solve for a wide variety of financial needs to ensure current and future success.
Working as the Director of Financial Planning, you will be responsible for leading a team providing client support in order to retain business, address new business opportunities, and help drive the client experience by managing the Financial Planning function and team that provides client support: including plan implementation, post-sales support & conversations to ensure a smooth transition to services rendered. You will provide comprehensive analysis, pro-active financial, strategic and/or estate planning solutions to Private Wealth’s current and prospective clients. Through analysis, you will provide sophisticated and technical financial support and work closely with client delivery teams to identify financial/estate planning opportunities. By supporting the client planning and decision-making identifying, maintaining, and evaluating information; developing and recommending actions. You will need to ensure the production of high-level financial planning reports for Private Wealth clientele to help them better understand the planning, and behaviors of collecting, formatting, analyzing and explaining information keeping in mind the client/prospect’s goals and needs.

How you’ll spend your time:
You will spend your time Building financial/estate planning database by identifying sources of information; assembling, verifying and backing up data.
You will spend time defining financial situations by completing quantitative analyses, evaluating optional plans by identifying outcomes and potential returns, and communicate planning recommendations to client delivery teams.
By staying on top of industry trends, maintaining technical knowledge, attending educational workshops and reviewing publications, you will serve as a resource to client delivery teams and management for education and training on relevant financial planning topics and analysis.
Utilizing your expertise in Financial Planning, you will participate in the Product Distribution Strategy – Participate in evaluation of product mix, consistency of delivery throughout the footprint. Make recommendations to ensure consistent experience may include expected planning experience for other lines of business; such as, retail.
Utilizing your skill set, you will evaluate planning approach, outputs and software and make recommendations to UMBFSI President and Sales Leadership to ensure a quality experience.

If you have a Bachelor's degree in related area, 7 years of financial planning experience and 3 years of leadership experience.
Bonus point, if you have a CFP or an advanced designation.
