Our location in Kansas City, MO currently has an opportunity for a Business Operations Analyst. The Business Operations Analyst is a key member of the marketing and operations team supporting data analytics, client reporting, operational projects and mining data for strategic insights, opportunities and efficiencies. This individual will address complex operational challenges and operate as an internal consultant to analyze data across our channels and define and recommend strategic and operational improvements within our workgroups. This individual will interface on a regular basis with the leadership team.
Successful candidates will be self-motivated, intellectually curious, a fast learner, comfortable with ambiguity and working independently, able to focus on details while thinking strategically. This individual will have the ability to solve business problems of moderate scope and deliver insights that enable timely and effective operational decision-making.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Partner with key business personnel to answer complex questions with both quantitative and qualitative data, analytics and insights
Contribute to the creation of strategic presentations needed for executive review (e.g., PowerPoint skills)
Drive strategic business decisions through detailed analytics, insights, and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Design, develop and maintain BI solutions
Gather and analyze large amounts of information quickly and problem-solve effectively
Support key projects including planning, requirements gathering, management, analysis, training and execution
Work both independently and in groups in a variety of situations requiring analytical, interpretive, evaluative and constructive thinking
Understand data management controls and business process intelligence
Exercise sound judgment and critical decision making within approved guidelines on business process and system requirements
Complete other special projects and duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree with quantitative focus
5 or more years of experience in management consulting, business strategy, or operational excellence / process improvement, or equivalent combination of experience and education
Preferred:
Experience presenting and analyzing large quantities of data with strong spreadsheet and database query experience (e.g. SQL)
Comfort working in fast-paced environment with limited guidance
Advanced experience in Excel
Advanced experience in PowerPoint
Six Sigma / Lean Process experience
SQL and database management experience
Microsoft Power BI experience
Excellent attention to detail, highly accountable and self-motivated
Excellent analytical insight, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
Extremely well-organized and capable of handling multiple projects and ad-hoc requests simultaneously
