The scope of these responsibilities can include the completion of departmental processes, proposing and/or implementing process improvements/automation in supplier analytics and pricing, meeting time sensitive deadlines, development and/or refinement of procedures, managing projects of varying scale, predictive analysis, profitability and reporting, systems integration strategy, frequent interaction with various levels of personnel within the department, and providing consultation and recommendations on business strategy to various levels of management.Representative DutiesBusiness Line SupportInteract regularly with business line managers to gather and analyze business needs or goals with respect to portfolio management and growth, buyer and supplier performance in order to define/develop the appropriate business strategyPrepares and presents supplier data analysis and pricing to varying associate/management levels of the departmentFamiliarity with supplier payment acceptance preferences across various industry verticalsBuild payment strategies for prospective customers and existing clients with our internal product offeringsBe available for on-site prospect/client meetings/visits to support the Sales and Relationship teamsProvide training, be available for follow-up calls and on-site client visits to all levels of internal customersBuyer and Supplier Spend AnalyticsPerform analytics on buyer spend dataDevelop a familiarity with supplier payment preferences and be able to interpret those preferences to various levels in the business lineBe able to meet and improve upon already established SLA’sMaintain supplier analysis data integrityCommunicate/interpret analysis results to end usersMaintain and enhance the supplier analytics database and deliverablesPricing ModelPopulate pricing models with payment informationDeliver and interpret pricing information to end usersAssist end users in building pricing for prospective and current clientsSpend Analytics Back-Testing and ReportingPerform periodic back-testing of spend analytics functionIn conjunction with back-testing, interpret the test results and develop conclusions based on resultsReport on the accuracy of spend analytics to business line managementPerform and document annual risk reviews of the various models used in the spend analytics functionProcess EnhancementEvaluate existing processes and workflows to automate or eliminate unnecessary or redundant steps to ensure consistency in the final productCoordinate across product lines, teams, and business lines to understand and identify similar needsDocumentation of enhancement outcomes and findingsProject ManagementWork on multiple projects as a subject matter expert, contributing to the development of detailed project plans, user interviews, definition of business requirements and needs, research of manual and automated systems and their related costs, and providing project recommendationsCoordinates project activities with all project participants and maintains communication with all vested partiesFrequent interaction and relationship building with various departments and business lines across the BankParticipation in project planning meetings for scope and requirements, and assist with coordinating the user experienceManages to scheduled deadlines and resource requirementsSphere of Responsibility The analyst’s role will primarily be focused on the Commercial Payments department, with minimal responsibilities to the rest of the Bank.Internal and External Contacts/CustomersThis role will have regular contact with internal customers and contact with external customer as needed.Consequence of ErrorMistakes in analytics and pricing decisions can have permanent and devastating effects on the success of a product in the marketplace and also impact management’s ability to make wise and strategic decisions.Work Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pmExperience/EducationEducation – Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other equivalent areaExperience – 2-3 years analytics experience. Payments experience preferred.Knowledge – Strong mathematics aptitude as it relates to sales analytics and pricing. Understanding of the financial industry and trends a plus as well as an understanding of payments. Advanced operational and developmental experience with Microsoft applications, including Excel and Access. Basic knowledge of financial ratios and their application to the Payments space.Analysis – Demonstrates excellent analytical and diagnostic skills; very detail oriented. Quickly detect and diagnose problems, gathers relevant information, identifies cause and effect relationships. Must be able to work with large data sets, analyze, interpret, review, and deliver strategic analysis relating to a prospective or current client’s payment spectrum. Motivation – Must work well within a cross-functional team. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be able to prioritize projects according to deadlines and SLA’s. Must be able to pivot and adjust priorities as required.Judgment/Problem-Solving – Can independently define and prioritize project objectives and tasks.
