Business Development Coordinator - KS

Status: FT- Exempt (salaried)

This position is responsible for managing Community Outreach and referral development in KS for the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) and Independent Living Skills Programs and Core Services. This position establishes and maintains relationships with customers and referral sources.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists in directing marketing operations and establishes and implements community education and outreach about Home and Community-Based Services and Independent Living Skills Programs and Core Services.
Establishes systems for consistent market assessment and develops a marketing plan designed to meet HCBS and IL Skills program goals.
Establishes and maintains mutually beneficial working relationships with current and potential referral sources, payers and other nonprofit agencies to promote services for people with disabilities.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Program’s markets, key referral sources and position in the market related to competitors.
Develops and maintains information on available community resources and assists consumers and staff in accessing services or information.
Participates in annual Program evaluation in areas of marketing, program development, growth, and expectations.
Provides backup support for state CIL meetings in Kansas in the event the CEO is unable to attend.
Participates in budget development for the department and monitors use of resources within budget limitations.
Works as needed as an advocate and resource to assist in meeting consumer needs and documents activities in CIL Suite when appropriate.
Social worker, LPN, RN, or Bachelor’s degree in related health care field
A minimum of two years previous experience in health care or marketing field.

Demonstrated knowledge of Medicaid guidelines, regulatory requirements, and restrictions in health care field.
Excellent verbal, written, communication and negotiation skills
Demonstrated organizational skills, flexibility, assertiveness and team orientation.
Demonstrated professionalism and excellent soft skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position spends a portion of their time in the office, but also will travel locally and state-wide to attend meetings and conduct Community Outreach. While performing the duties of this job the employee has the potential to encounter unpredictable clients. The position has inside and outside work, traveling from one location to another, with exposure to weather conditions.
