The Assortment Planner develops bottoms-up item level assortment plans that tie to financial goals and appropriate inventory levels. This position partners with merchants, allocation planning, merchandise planning, demand inventory planning and other areas to contribute both to the strategic and analytical perspective of the business to maximize sales while minimizing financial risk for Hallmark. The assortment planner will collaborate with merchant team to help plan promotional & marketing SKUs and Front of Store stories that drive customer engagement and drive sales growth with the appropriate assortment.

The Retail Gift team creates a broad array of unique gift products for our Gold Crown stores. Product offerings include both every day and seasonal offerings in home and gift décor, plush & memory books for baby/kids, books, journals, and exclusive licensed products.
WHO YOU ARE:
The right candidate for this role will operate as the owner of their assigned season. He/she must be passionate about the consumer and intellectually curious about their business, demonstrate the ability to analyze their assortments, understand key drivers of the assortment and provide recommended insights and actions that deliver results. Critical to success is the ability to establish credibility while relying on expertise of others and developing collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO:
Partner with merchants to build a balanced assortment that reconciles to the financial goals of the assigned product category
Velocity planning at the SKU level for retail and wholesale accounts
Analyze product categories assigned and sharing insights with the team
Apply current business trends to future assortment plans

Bachelor's degree OR 4 years professional experience with data analysis
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in analytic role
Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in assortment planning or merchandise planning
Combination of strong analytical and communication skills
Proven ability to collaborate across diverse audiences
Proficient in Excel
