The Sr. Analyst, Billing is responsible for completing regulatory data requests, internal and external audits, technical support on the billing system, testing and implementing new acquisitions and upgrades, troubleshoot issues discovered by customer service and billing reps.AccountabilitiesComplete regulatory data requests by deadlines set by the Regulatory department, Legal or Commission. Assist in testing and implementing new acquisitions and upgrades to the billing system. Participates as a liaison between IT and Billing for changes, enhancements and modification to billing system. Assist the Auditing department with internal and external audits by providing test data and reports on all changes made to the billing system. Review Sarbanes documentation quarterly and update when changes are needed. Troubleshoot and correct issues discovered by Customer Service and Billing Representatives. Operate the Billing Systems to agreed deadlines and schedules Report on Bill production activities and outcomes Documents and refine Billing Processes Provide Cross department Billing expertise Review Billing development plans and assess Billing impacts Provide resource estimates to all projects Construct, socialize and execute Billing test plans Provide knowledge sharing across the Billing team for new developments Subject matter expert in the Billing System identifying issues, taking action towards resolution Assist with Reporting for Month- End close Provide back-up for billing representatives Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities within the company and across the Billing group Assist in developing and documenting policies, procedures, job ads and training modules for Billing including Training. Perform regular analysis on all metrics and recommend improvements Address any errors within the processes that support billing activity Test set up changes, new functionality, and new process Participates in special projects as assigned, such as, documenting processes and procedures Participate in major department projects and take an active roles in cross-functional teams to assist in driving quality improvements, processes and initiatives. Work closely with Customer Service, Billing and operational groups as needed. Education and ExperienceExpertise advanced/well-developed skills and knowledge within a specific professional discipline involving the integration of theory and principles with organizational practices and precedents College or professional program of 3 years or less 3-5 years exp.Algonquin Power and Utilities Corp is a North American diversified generation, transmission and distribution utility with $10+ billion of total assets.
