The purpose of this position is to provide senior-level expertise, leadership and relationship development in the implementation and management of CBRE technician apprenticeship and career development initiatives. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible to support the management of the internal and external technical talent pipeline to include developing and maintaining positive relationships with CBRE HR (People) & Recruiting, account leaders, technicians, trade and vocational schools, non-profits and Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs). Talent to be supported ranges from apprentices to technical leaders across North America.
The candidate must possess senior-level experience in employee and business relationships, talent acquisition and retention and training and career development. Employees in this position may be required to travel with minimal advance notice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads Technical Career Program Manager team to drive success with CBREs apprenticeship program.
Develops and maintains effective partnerships with organizations committed to the career development of commercial building technical roles, with a focus on improving employee diversity.
Develops relationships and a strategic plan for technician succession with an expectation to promote from within between accounts and backfill openings with interns and/or apprentices.
Actively participates in technical employee recruiting and interviewing efforts, including development of talent assessment initiatives.
Provides motivation to division and account employees to ensure successful implementation of CBRE apprenticeship and career development initiatives.
Leads, supports and promotes corporate training, educational and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Responsible for business unit financial performance.
Provides recommendations for tactical and strategic planning.
Other duties as assigned.
May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. May approve subordinates recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval.
Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention.
Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the companys values.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and a minimum of eight years of related experience and/or training. Masters degree (MA/MS) preferred. Previous supervisory experience required.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Professional designation such as CPM, RPA, or CCIM preferred. Active real estate license may be required. Professional Engineer (PE) license may be desired.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget.
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet/internet. Ability to use work order system.
Working knowledge and understanding of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems. Understanding of leases, contracts and related documents.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work. This includes but is not limited to:
Complete all required and assigned HSE training at a satisfactory level,
Follow all activity policies and procedures, including all HSE-related requirements at all times,
Participate in all HSE-related programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing and assessment, etc.
Report any conditions which you feel could result in an accident or injury and / or stop work if required.
As a Manager:
- While adhering to all HSE requirements established for CBRE employees, supervisors and managers are additionally required to:
a. Provide sufficient distraction-free time for employees to complete all required HSE training & support the HSE training program implicitly,
b. Investigate and resolve (if possible) all reported unsafe conditions / acts and communicate results back to the affected stakeholders,
c. Support "stop work" authority when it is exercised in good faith,
d. Communicate any / all potential workplace hazards and workplace procedures.
Pay range 100K- This role is bonus eligible
