Western Oil Inc. is the owner of the convenience store chain PetroMart. We are a fast-growing chain that operates 47 stores in the St. Louis and Columbia Mo market area. We employ over 600 full and part time employees. We are a committed to providing top notch customer service to our patrons. In addition to our convenience stores we also operate a fuel delivery transport business serving our own locations in addition to many of wholesale operators.
To fuel that growth, we have another exciting opportunity as an Human Resource Generalist. The HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the HR department with a high degree of customer satisfaction, expertise and timeliness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Requesting and validating background and drug screen results for new hires
Send new hire pre-employment, new hire documents and benefit packages electronically
Processing new hire entry (data entry, e-Verify, New Hire reporting and Social Security verification); follows up on missing or incomplete paperwork
Processing employee terminations in accordance with Agency Partner specifications and all State and Federal laws and regulations
Process employee status changes in HRIS system
Processing name, address and employee status changes in an accurate and timely fashion
Complete employee agreements
Maintaining personnel records in electronic database in compliance with applicable legal requirements
Understanding of and compliance with all State and Federal human resource laws and regulations.
Assisting with various website registration, resets, navigation and questions
Processing employment verifications
Review and interpret associate data to resolve issues with demonstrated sensitivity and respect at all times
Assists with projects to support priorities and initiatives within the HR Team

Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 600 employees. Verify all employee timesheets, changes, & adjustments.
Maintain and update attendance records including tracking of time off.
Treat confidential information with utmost integrity.
Research and resolve payroll and HR related questions. Provide guidance for managers and employees. Escalate payroll and HR situations as needed.
Implementation of company policy and procedures.
Assist with benefit administration.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related field or the recognized equivalent in education and experience, required
Minimum 2 years working as an HR generalist or comparable role, required
Possessing a bachelor?s degree in HR (or related discipline of Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or Labor & Industrial Relations) may be substituted for 1 year of the experience requirement listed above.
- Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
