JES Holdings Transaction Analyst in Columbia, Missouri

Affordable Equity Partners, Inc. (AEP) is a financial resources company that helps developers and investors utilize state and federal low income housing and historic rehabilitation tax credit programs to create enduring value in neighborhoods and communities, while at the same time reducing tax liability.

Transaction Analysts within AEP work directly with the Vice President of Transactions on closing operations; Assist the Closing department with the purchasing and selling of investment properties as well as preparation and analysis of complex financial data with the purpose of assisting management in making sound economic and business decisions. The Transaction Analyst is also involved in all phases of the LIHTC tax credit process, including land acquisition, zoning, investor due diligence, partnership structuring, tax analysis and structuring, financing, construction contracting, property/asset management and the tax credit application.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and analyze complex upper tier and lower tier financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of projecting a financial probability.

  • Review costs and perform cost benefit analysis related to development projects.

  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.

  • Analyze business performance and identify opportunities and risks to budgets, business plans and operations effectiveness. Make recommendations to Vice President of Transactions and participate in related implementation activities.

  • Collect and review due diligence documentation.

  • Review legal documentation to make sure it reflects financial data concepts.

  • Work with legal counsel to prepare contracts for the syndication of investment interests.

  • Communicate and negotiate with developers and investors.

  • Coordinate with real estate attorneys on review and approval of due diligence.

Position Requirements:

  • 4 year degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance required; MBA preferred.

  • 3 years? experience; 1 + years providing financial analysis of potential profitability in a business unit. Experience working with private investors preferred.

  • 1+ years? experience as an investment banking financial analyst preferred.

  • Knowledge of real estate and real estate development helpful.

  • Computer literate with specific experience in MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.

  • Knowledge of basic investment classes preferred.
