Purpose • Assist the Director Corporate Tax and the Manager Corporate Tax in the preparation of all federal and state income tax reporting and miscellaneous other reporting, filing, and analytical work related to Corporate income tax. Responsibilities • Prepare, track, and file all income tax returns with payments; resolve issues with state and local taxing authorities. • Prepare book versus tax adjustments for income tax returns, estimated tax payments, and quarterly financial statement provision entries. • Stay abreast of changes in federal and state income tax law. • Assist the Director Corporate Tax and the Manager Corporate Taxes in other areas of tax preparation and filing. • Balance Corporate tax accounts. • Research tax issues related to federal and state tax accounts with State Departments of Revenue and related taxing authorities.
Requirements Minimum Job Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience required: Income tax/tax accounting • Four-year degree required Preferred Job Requirements • 4-5 years of experience preferred • Advanced degree preferred • CPA or CPA candidate preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge • Knowledge of taxes and related legislation • Knowledge of audit data requirements and related support • Knowledge of federal and state income tax filing forms • Knowledge of Company general ledger systems and overall policies and procedures Skills • Mathematical skills • Organizational skills • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and ONESOURCE Income Tax preferred • Communication skills • Return, estimate, and tax calculation preparation skills Abilities • Ability to stay current in federal and state tax laws • Ability to be detail oriented • Ability to multitask • Ability to meet deadlines on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis • Ability to coordinate tax payment remittances • Ability to recognize problems and data inconsistencies • Ability to be efficient in the construction of tax supporting work papers and files
Working Conditions Traditional office environment. Some travel required.
