Responsible for Graybar’s corporate communication strategies, including internal communications, public relations, social media and events efforts. Build awareness, credibility and relevance for the brand while protecting the Graybar image through reputation management across all constituent audiences.
Responsibilities * Develop and direct internal and external communications strategy that articulates key messages to primary audiences using thought leadership and a diverse mix of outbound communications activities.
Oversee day-to-day management of media relations and social media activities that align to overall marketing strategy and business goals.
Conduct regular and ongoing correspondence and relationship-building efforts with influencers in the industry and media/social media.
Oversee internal and employee communications, as well as corporate events, including initiatives and programming.
Collaborate with Director of Brand and Integrated Marketing to harmonize internal and external messaging strategies.
Collaborate with internal partners to support communications to Shareholders and other strategic communications initiatives.
Proactively manage information flows through press releases, blogs and other outbound activities (i.e., maintain PR and social media calendar).
Support the Company’s inbound marketing strategy (i.e., inclusion of search engine optimization [SEO] keywords in PR content and directory listings).
Create content and story angles to drive greater awareness around specific messages, themes or issues, or further engagement with specific audiences (i.e., press releases, media pitches, and executive communications).
Increase visibility of the Company’s executives and subject matter experts (SMEs) through speaking and editorial opportunities.
Manage participation in relevant industry awards programs.
Direct crisis response activities and response to media inquiries.
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience.
8-10 years of progressive experience in communications with demonstrated expertise in internal/external communication program development, social media and public relations.
8-10 years of experience leading business strategy and developing both internal and external communications, including a tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms
Excellent message and story development skills
Ability to manage multiple complex projects
Demonstrated ability to lead people, drive results, and effect change through influence and across all functions and levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, to provide clear direction and to hold people accountable.
Highly developed analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
Working Conditions Office environment. Some travel required.
