Protective Life Insurance Sr Staff Accountant in Chesterfield, Missouri
The Sr. Accountant will provide timely and accurate GAAP and Statutory accounting and financial reporting for the Asset Protection division.
Analyze division financial results.
Prepare monthly financial reporting package for division management and others.
Provide financial data to various internal departments and external entities.
Prepare monthly Account Reconciliations
Assist in completing quarterly/annual statutory reporting.
Assist in annual audit of financial statements.
Special projects as requested.
Contact with management, Corporate accounting, external auditors and state insurance departments.
B.S. degree in Accounting, CPA and/or MBA preferred
5-7 years general accounting experience and/or 3 years public accounting experience or any equivalent combination of training and related experience, which provides the required accounting skills, knowledge and abilities
4-5 years of insurance accounting experience preferred
Intermediate to advanced PC spreadsheet and database experience.
Experience in SAP General Ledger a plus.
Knowledge of general accounting principles
Strong skills in the following areas: analytical, problem solving, written and oral communication, organization and time management
Ability to work with minimal supervision
