Oracle Product Strategist - Commerce in Chesterfield, Missouri

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

We are expanding our CX Outbound Product Management team, seeking a Product Strategist to support our commerce and digital selling solutions within the Oracle CX Applications group. Here is what you can expect from the everyday:

  • Developing analysis and significant input for general strategy elements of the Commerce and digital selling product plans, including assembling local and global market data and intelligence to support and enhance product and business strategy.

  • Creating and delivering Commerce messaging, including thought leadership, competitive intelligence and related topics.

  • Nurturing relationships with corporate product groups, marketing, press, analysts, and sales to educate them on our product innovations / strategy and help seek out new opportunities for the Commerce business.

  • Training internal (sales and sales engineering) and external (partner) ecosystem on product innovation, messaging, positioning and competitive differentiation.

  • Support field closing strategic deals that feature Commerce and adjacent solutions such as CPQ & subscriptions.

  • Creating strategies to maximize selling of Commerce solutions in conjunction with other Oracle products.

  • Developing customer relationships for the purposes of revealing stories of customer success.

  • Planning and execution of product briefings (eg. Cloud Customer Connect, virtual product innovation series), virtual and in-person customer advisory boards, virtual and live major Oracle events (eg. MCX, CX@OOW), virtual and global SE and partner events

  • Working with SI partners’ Commerce teams and adjacent practices (ERP, CPQ, SFA) to drive investment in Oracle’s digital selling solutions

Requirements for this position include:

  • 5 years progressively increasing product marketing (outbound facing) responsibility in a cloud enterprise software environment – ideally in CX/Commerce

  • Exceptional presentation and writing skills.

  • Industry knowledge (consumer goods, high tech mfg, industrial manufacturing)

  • Strong CX/Commerce/SaaS cloud application product & domain knowledge and understanding of market-based strategies and competitive landscape.

  • Exceptional messaging skills in both written/oral/presentation communication skills with demonstrated skills in developing and delivering compelling content in keynotes, videos, demos or other high visibility channels.

  • Prior demonstrated success in working with top level industry analyst firms to influence opinion/coverage

  • Ability to articulate product / solution value in terms of customer value and impact on their business, employees, customers and partners

  • Ability to build relationships and influence outside of authority while leveraging Oracle expertise and resources.

  • Highly organized and self-motivated.

Education & Experience: MBA/Business, Communications, Marketing, Computer Science, Journalism/English degree or hands on experience in these disciplines.
