Day ShiftTo assist the Director of Accounting with the daily operations of the Accounting Department. Apply generally accepted accounting principles to maintain general ledger accounting system at SE HealthBegin

  • Provides support to the Director of Accounting in managing the day to day operations of the Accounting staff including the hiring of employees, disciplinary counseling, and performance evaluations.

  • Ascertains that all accounts within the balance sheet are balanced to detail ledgers or worksheets by reviewing balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.

  • Responsible for the timely monthly closing of the hospital general ledger including assisting the in reviewing and approving journal entries and the statement preparation of the board packet.

  • Responsible for maintaining the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers.

  • Assist the Controller in computing the monthly calculations of the hospital contractual allowances including the appropriate reserves for patient accounts receivable.

  • Assists the audit team in preparing schedules and coordinates the progress of the annual audit and 990 return.

  • Maintains hospital bank accounts including and not limited to signatures and daily cash transfers.

  • Maintains compliance with principles of accepted employee conduct.

  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards

  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested


  • BS in Accounting from an accredited college or university - Required

  • Certified Public Accountant - Required

  • Two years of public accounting experience – Required

  • High proficiency with Excel required.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and strict project deadlines

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
