Refund Specialist iSummaryiOur growing eye care organization has an immediate need for a Refund Specialist who will quickly and accurately process refunds to patients, third party, institutional and government payers. In this role, the Refund Specialist evaluates refund requests and credit balances to determine whether or not a refund is due.iResponsibilities Evaluate refund requests and credit balances and corresponding documentation to assess whether a refund is applicable based on the accuracy of the billing, overpayments, payer audits or other management directivesPrepare the backup documentation to support each refund requested for approval and signatureIdentify trends and problems causing potential refunds for process improvementsTrack and reports on the # and dollar amount of refunds monthly by financial classResearch payer and contract guidelines for refund timelinesAppeal refunds that are determined to be inappropriate requestsRequirements: Education, Experience and Skills iHigh school diploma or equivalent required2+ years' experience in revenue cycle or similar experienceMust understand the different payer plans and good understanding of A/RMust understand insurance contract languageAbility to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the dataExcellent verbal, written, and social skillsCOMPENSATIONiAttractive compensation package consists of the following:Competitive base salaryBonus eligibilityPersonal time offPaid holiday time off401(k) with employer matchInsurance benefits, including: medical, vision, dental, and life insuranceEyecare Partners is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
